Three young women sit on grass outside a building, holding papers and talking. They appear to be studying, perhaps enjoying a break from their West Chester University housing, with one woman smiling as the others listen attentively.

There are four residence halls – Allegheny Hall, Brandywine Hall, Commonwealth Hall, and University Hall and two garden-style apartment communities, The Village and East Village. Together, the six communities house more than 3000 students.

Home to 3,000+ Residents

USH, University Student Housing, oversees the daily management which includes helping students sign up for housing, assigning rooms, distributing packages, and handling any maintenance issues.

A group of young adults moves belongings outdoors on a sunny day, likely arriving at West Chester University housing. The smiling person in front pushes a cart filled with bedding and storage bins, while others carry items nearby amid trees and parked cars.

Here to help

When you live in a USH community, you’ll sign a lease agreement and be billed directly by USH, not through your WCU RamPortal.

The Residence Life staff in each community is there to support you with anything student-related, like community events, roommate concerns or getting involved. They’re hired and managed by West Chester University. All USH communities are regularly patrolled and monitored by WCU Public Safety to help keep everyone safe.

Our Mission

A person in a yellow shirt stands next to a ram mascot in a purple and gold WCU shirt, smiling outside a stone building with wooden doors—an inviting scene near West Chester University housing, with others in yellow shirts nearby.

University Student Housing supports the goals of West Chester University by developing and operating exemplary living and learning communities for the individual and educational enrichment of students.
