- Don’t Forget to clean your space and remove all food and perishable items.
- Refrigerators must be emptied, unplugged and placed in your shower.
- Mail and package deliver stop over break, ensure you send packages to the home addresses over break periods.
- Take all necessary items, you not be permitted to return to your unit over winter break.
- Looking to stay over break, complete the Break Housing Request Form in USH Resident Portal
- If you are participating in Fall Commencement you are approved to stay through Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 6pm.

Break Housing
The Residence Halls (Allegheny, Brandywine, Commonwealth and University Hall) will close for Winter Break on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. and reopen for the start of the spring semester on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
Only students who are approved to remain in their assigned space during the winter break period will be approved to stay.
Students who reside in The Village or East Village Apartments are able to stay over winter break but must complete the form in the USH Resident Portal letting Residence Life and Public Safety know you will be on campus.
Winter break housing begins on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:00am and ends on Sunday, January, 18, 2026 at 12:00pm.
Only students who complete the Winter Break Housing Request in the USH Resident Portal and are approved, sign an addendum and pay the $200 non-refundable fee may remain in on-campus housing during this time.
If you are part of an approved group, your approval will be sent by your group/department. If your group/department is paying your winter term fee, they will be billed directly.
Residence halls are open ONLY to provide living space for University Student Housing residents. Non-USH tenants are not permitted as guests or visitors in the residence halls.
Violations of alcohol, illegal drugs, guest or noise policies, instances of abuse or unauthorized use of Landlord’s facilities, or any other infraction of Landlord, University policy, or Student code of Conduct may result in immediate removal of Tenant from the residence halls for the remainder of the Winter Term, without refund.
Services provided by Landlord and Residence Life staff during the Winter Term will be limited to those that are most essential, especially those pertaining to health and safety concerns. Tenant may experience interruptions to utilities or other services for repairs or testing. Prior notification will be provided by Landlord, to the extent practicable.
Winter Term Housing is available to current USH tenants. Tenants that plan to terminate their lease after the fall term are not eligible. New tenants whose lease begins at the start of the spring semester are not eligible.
Mail, food service, and other campus resources will have limited availability during the Winter Term.
Only the Commonwealth Hall Front Desk will be open to assist USH north campus residents from 10:00am to 2:00pm and 4:00pm to 8:00pm each day. Desks will be closed on December 24th, 25th, and January 1st. Hours are subject to change.
